How Metadata Remover handles images, browser preferences, and basic connection data
2026/10/02
Metadata Remover is built to keep your images on your device. The public tool does not require an account, and the images you choose are not uploaded to our servers.
When you select, drop, or paste an image, the browser reads it with local browser APIs. Metadata detection, decoding, re-encoding, verification, and ZIP creation run on your device. The image and its metadata are not sent to a Metadata Remover API.
Files may remain temporarily in the memory used by the open tab. Reloading or closing the tab clears that working state. Downloads are saved wherever your browser normally saves files.
Like most websites, the server, hosting provider, or content delivery network may receive technical request data such as your IP address, browser type, requested URL, date and time, and error or security events. This information is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures. It is not used to inspect the images you process.
The site may store your theme, language, and notice preferences on your device. These settings do not contain your images. You can remove them through your browser's cookie and site-data controls. See the Cookie Notice for details.
As of the date shown above, the public site does not enable advertising or analytics trackers. The hosting provider still processes the connection data required to serve the site. If analytics or another non-essential service is introduced, this notice will be updated and a choice will be provided where required.
Because images are not uploaded, we do not retain them. Browser preferences remain until you clear them. Infrastructure logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, reliability, and legal obligations, subject to the hosting provider's settings.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. We limit the data handled by the site and use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service.
You can clear saved preferences at any time in your browser. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you. Because the image tool does not receive your files, we cannot retrieve an image or cleaned output from our servers.
Privacy questions or rights requests can be sent through the support contact published with the live service. We may need enough information to verify and respond to a request, but please do not include an image unless specifically asked.
This notice may change when the service or its data practices change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
